Six ideas for dating in Essex
Sponsored post| Now that we are slowly returning to normal life, it’s time that we got ourselves back out there. Whether single, ‘seeing someone’, or happily coupled up, dating is important for our wellbeing. Humans are social creatures, after all. As an Essex girl (who met her partner on a well known firey app) I’m a bit of an expert on ideas for dating in Essex.
Even in 2021, there’s still a stigma associated with online dating in particular. Not everyone who joins an app or signs up to an Essex dating site are players. Some are testing the waters, looking to meet people who could be a potential partner in the future, and some are searching for their Mr (or Mrs) right.

My best dates have been in Essex, probably because people from Essex are so much fun to date! So fun in fact that I ended up settling down with an Essex boy from Southend-on Sea.
And what easier way is there to meet an Essex local than online?

So, you’ve met someone you like and are looking for some Essex dating ideas. Whether you’re 20 or 55, and whether it’s an activity online, or a whole day out together, a date is a time for you to have fun and get to know the person you are with. Here are six ideas you could try.

Virtual first date – as video chat dating is now becoming the norm for people who meet online, decide if that person is the right one for you on a virtual first date. You don’t even need to be sat in your home to do it – you could be walking your dog, or sitting in a park. That’s the beauty of modern technology!
Promenade along the seaside – With Southend, Clacton, and Frinton, Essex has a brilliant collection of beaches for you to visit, especially when the weather is warm. Essex also boasts the worlds longest pleasure pier at Southend-on-Sea, so you could always enjoy a walk on a record holder (I can vouch – it was one of my first dates too).
Picnic in a country park – Essex has so many open spaces which are perfect for a picnic. Wear a cute dress, bring delicious food, and perhaps even play a bit of bat and ball or Frisbee.
Explore a historic location – One of my favourite Essex date ideas is this. Essex has a rich and interesting history, so of course we have an array of historic locations: Tilbury Fort, or Audley End House and Gardens are lovely English Heritage sites worth a visit.
Eat at a popular restaurant – Though you might associate London with being the best location for restaurants, Essex has some blinders for an evening meal. There’s The Magic Mushroom in Billericay, Maluchi’s in Benfleet, Dante’s in Maldon, just to name a few.

Stay in a luxury hotel – Perhaps you’re ready for your next step. Essex has some wonderful hotels, like Lifehouse Spa in Thorpe-le-Stoken, Roslin Beach Hotel in Southend-on-Sea, or Down Hall Hotel and Spa in Bishop’s Stortford.
These are just a few suggestions to get you started when thinking about ideas for dating in Essex. Remember, dating is a time for you to find our more about your partner. Ask questions, share stories, and have fun!
